What Are Scuba Fun Dives?
Our Scuba Fun Dives are daily, guided boat trips designed for certified divers who want to explore the best of the Chocó Pacific. We visit a variety of sites—from vibrant rocky reefs to shipwrecks (Sebastian de Belalcazar)—depending on the day’s conditions. Groups are kept small and grouped by experience level to ensure you have the freedom to explore while staying safe.

What you’ll do (step‑by‑step)
-
Meet & Welcome (08:00): Arrive at the Ankla Azul dive center. We’ll sign forms, check your certification, fit your full rental gear, and give a detailed briefing.
-
Boat Ride: Enjoy a scenic ride along the lush coast to our first site, looking out for dolphins or seasonal whales.
-
Guided Dive 1 & 2: Explore two distinct sites led by your instructor. Relax with fresh fruit and snacks during the surface interval.
-
Optional Dive 3 (Afternoon): If you booked the 3-tank trip, we continue the adventure after a short break.
-
Combo Option (Night Dive): If you booked the Day & Night Combo, you’ll take a break in the afternoon and return at 6:00 PM to watch the reef transform after dark.
-
Log & Plan: Head back to the shop to log your dives, identify the fish you saw, and share photos.

Who it’s for (requirements)
- Certified Divers: Must hold a valid Open Water Diver certification (or higher) from any agency (SSI, PADI, NAUI, etc.).
- Recent Experience: We recommend having dived within the last 12 months. (Haven’t dived in a while? Ask about our Scuba Refresher).
- Health & Forms: You’ll complete a standard medical questionnaire. If you have any pre-existing conditions, please bring a doctor’s clearance.
- Flying After Diving: Please allow 18–24 hours before your flight home.
New to the Pacific? We’ve got your back. We handle the navigation and currents so you can relax, drift at your own pace, and focus entirely on the magic around you.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need to bring my own gear?
No! We provide high-quality rental gear (XDEEP backplates, Cressi, Mares) included in the price. If you have your own mask or computer, feel free to bring it.
How does the Combo work?
You do 2 dives in the morning (starting at 8:00 AM), take a break for lunch and rest, and meet us again at 6:00 PM for the night dive. It’s the ultimate full day of diving!
How deep do we go?
Profiles depend on your certification level. Open Water divers stay above 18m (60ft), while Advanced divers may go deeper depending on the site.
Is lunch included?
We provide sandwiches and drinks. If you have a big appetite, we recommend upgrading to a full lunch in the booking form for an extra charge.
Can I use a dive computer?
Yes! We highly recommend it. We have a limited number of dive computers for rent (additional cost) if you don’t have your own.

More Than Kicking Your Fins
At Ankla Azul, diving is more than kicking your fins. It’s patient teaching, sharp safety, and real care for the place we call home. As an SSI Instructor Training Center and an SSI Blue Oceans Center (2025 award), we blend skill-building with ocean awareness—Fish ID, coral nursery work, community education, and rescue support—so every dive grows confidence and respect for Bahía Solano’s wild Pacific.
