Identificación: A master of disguise, globally famous among divers as the "Dragon Wrasse."

• Seaweed Mimic: Unlike the smooth-bodied adults (known as Rockmover Wrasses), juveniles feature highly elongated, branch-like filaments on their first two dorsal fin spines, giving them the appearance of a mythical dragon or a piece of floating algae.
• Camouflage Colors: The body is typically dark brown, maroon, or greenish, heavily mottled with distinct white spots and irregular patches to break up its outline.

Comportamiento: A tiny actor relying on motion for survival.

• The Drunken Sailor: To complete their camouflage, juveniles swim with a highly erratic, swaying, back-and-forth motion. They perfectly mimic a piece of dead seaweed surging in the shallow currents to fool predators.
• Rubble Hiders: Unlike typical fast-swimming wrasses, the Dragon Wrasse stays very close to sandy rubble bottoms and reef debris, relying entirely on its disguise rather than speed.
